"Knotty" Dani

Dani has a new fascination with knots. She learned how to tie them about 2 months ago and I find them everywhere. She has used string, rope, ribbon, belts, material, and pretty much anything that could be tied. Her knots have included but are not limited to...
  • Tying the office chair to Emily's walker
  • Tying Abby to the office chair (this one resulted in some major Abby screaming)
  • Tying Emily's highchair to the tricycle
  • Tying ribbons throughout her crocheted blanket.
  • Tying Emily's shirt to her toy (I caught her in the act because Emily started crying)
  • Tying many door handles to various items of furniture

Now, I know that you are thinking... oh, a little three year old tying knots, how cute. No, this girl could qualify to be a boy scout at a very young age! It takes her mother quite awhile to get the 5-10 knots in a row unraveled! When this girl ties knots... she really ties knotSSS!

I hadn't thought to take pictures of Dani's little knot adventures until she pulled this one on me........

Yeah, that is our neighbors dog Buford (that's not really Her name but Heston started calling her Buford about 1 month before we realized that she was a girl and about 2 months before we learned that her real name is Snickers and then it was too late to turn back)

Anyway, the poor dog just comes around because we feed her occasional hot dogs and scrap meat. And she gets to deal with my girls trying to bury her in sand, ride her, and tie her up to the swing. She really is the best dog that we could ask for! (but we're not going to ask for her, we'll just keep borrowing her) Dani has grown out of the nap taking phase. Mostly because when she naps she can't go to sleep at night and we get to deal with making her go back to bed about 20 times before she finally falls asleep at midnight! Well, the other day I had put the two babies down for their naps and I was doing dishes while Dani was playing. She must have been tired because she built this little fort in our room and fell asleep. Doesn't she look like a little angel?

The "Abby Avalanche"

Beautiful mascara job Abby!
Our little Abby is the biggest entertainer and the greatest mess maker. I'm sad that I haven't gotten more of her messes documented. She is such a ham. She loves to make us laugh. We love having our little Abba-goo around!
She fell asleep on Heston like this. Holding her hair of course!

The "Emmie Monster"

Little Emmie loves the girls little picnic table! She can often be spotted climbing up on top of it and giving her mom and dad a sly little smile. If the girls have left any food on their breakfast or lunch plates it is sure to be devoured as soon as the "Emmie Monster" spots it. This comes in handy when the girls are refusing to eat (that would be pretty much every meal) we just let Emily down and say "you'd better hurry and eat because the "Emmie Monster" is coming!" Knock on wood.... she hasn't fallen yet! Those Cement floors are not kind to little noggins!
Emily and Lillie are partners in crime when it comes to this table!
Emily is helping herself to the girls left over Birthday cake.
Man, she is cute!!!!!

Our 3 little Valentines!

Making Valentine crafts. I Didn't get a picture of the finished product before we gave them away but they were cute little heart butterflies... I know it's surprising that I didn't get a picture! Welker rule - Never paint with clothes on! The girls had a valentine in the mailbox every day of Valentines week. It was the highlight of their days!Dani "reading" the Valentine to Abby.
Woo-Hoo CANDY!!!!
Our cute little Valentines! (Yeah, that's right, Emmie has a big ole candy drooling out of her mouth.)
My favorite heart hairdo.

Happy Birthday to DANI !!!!!!

Dani Dooskie turned 4 years old on February 15th! We had a FUN day going to the snow with the Welker's. Dani is in heaven when she's playing in the snow. her favorite thing to do is to eat the snow clean or dirty. (I made sure that she didn't eat any yellow snow although all of the girls took their turn making yellow snow) Here She is in the van on the way up the mountain.
Here is her crazy sister Abby. I asked her what she was eating and she sure showed me her valentine chocolate!
Here are the little marshmallow babies!
Grandma was so kind to take care of these little munchkins while the rest of us played and tubed. Thank you again Grandma!
Cold Kisses!
Dani getting ready to go down all by her self! Sweet little Emmie.
Daddy's girl.
Happy as can be!
We had hot chocolate afterward. Dani has a hot coco smile!
Abby camped out with the bag of Cheetos!
We wore them out!!! sleepy little Cheetos faces!
Emmie didn't quite finish her Cheetos.
When we got home the girls woke up and were SUPER GROUCHY! Their daddy gave them a warm bath and got them pshcyed about the big party. Dani was really excited when she saw her cake!
Heston has been telling Dani stories about Puff the magic dragon every night for the past several months. She is obsessed with these stories and I will agree after sitting in on a couple of them, they are very entertaining!
Her daddy takes her to the land of Honalee and you should see this little girl's face as she listens to these stories! If she falls asleep before she gets her "Puff story" she has been known to wake up at 2:00 or 3:00 am. and wake her daddy up insisting that he tell her one right then! And of course her daddy does. What a guy! Dani and her "Puff" cake! Dani tried to blow her candle out 3 times and Abby kept beating her to it. She finally got to blow her own candle out. Her wish..... "to be a princess and dance all night long with a prince" YIKES!! Time to start encouraging cars, tractors, ball games, Dora, or even Barney for that matter. She's a little bit too young for these thoughts. I mean come on - I made her a dragon cake why didn't she wish for a ride on Puff the magic dragon or something??Emily loved the balloons.
Dani didn't want to wear her crown so her daddy got to! Emily and Lillie climbed up to the kids table to eat with their sisters.
